Ludhiana to Shimla
Taxi Service

The Ludhiana to Shimla taxi is a drive of about 215 km that normally takes 5 to 6 hours. Punjab Delhi Taxi is based in Ludhiana — our office is on Dugri Road, Model Town — so the car comes to your door from within the city, not from another town.

Ludhiana to Shimla Route by Road

The usual route is Ludhiana → Samrala → Morinda → Kharar → Zirakpur → Parwanoo → Dharampur → Solan → Kandaghat → Shimla, which is NH5 the whole way — the same highway that starts as Chandigarh Road in Ludhiana runs on to Shimla.

The cab leaves through Samrala Chowk onto Chandigarh Road. The plains section to Zirakpur takes about two hours; the hill road starts at Parwanoo.

Drop Points in Shimla

Vehicles are not allowed on the Mall Road and the Ridge, so the drop is at the nearest point to your hotel:

• The Lift parking on Cart Road (for Mall Road hotels)
• Old Bus Stand
• ISBT Tutikandi
• Chotta Shimla and Kasumpti
• Sanjauli and Dhalli
• Kufri and Mashobra (beyond Shimla, by request)

Ask your hotel which parking is closest before you travel. From December to February there can be snow beyond Shimla; the driver will tell you on the day whether Kufri is reachable.

How Long to Keep the Car

For a weekend, most Ludhiana families book a round trip of two or three days so the same car is available for Kufri, Naldehra and the drive back. A one way drop is available if you plan to stay longer.

Pickup Points in Ludhiana

• Focal Point, Dhandari and Sahnewal

Ludhiana to Shimla Taxi Fare and Cars

On a one way booking you pay for the Ludhiana to Shimla direction only — there is no charge for the car's return. If you are coming back within a day or two, ask for the round trip fare, which usually works out cheaper than two one way trips.

Cars on the Ludhiana–Shimla route: Dzire or Etios sedan (4 seats, two large bags), Ertiga (6 seats) and Innova Crysta (6-7 seats). Tell us the number of people and bags and we suggest the car that fits.

Fares change a little with the car and the travel date, so we quote on call (9872290260) rather than print a number that may be out of date. The quote states whether toll and state tax are included.
